About Wild Rose

Thoughtful details, written by hand.

Calligrapher writing place cards by hand at a wooden desk

I’ve always been drawn to calligraphy, but for years it was one of those things I never quite found the time to try.

Then lockdown happened and, suddenly, time was something we all had rather a lot of. I signed up for a calligraphy course and absolutely loved it. So I signed up for another. And then another.

Eventually, I plucked up the courage to open an Etsy shop and put my work out into the world. To my amazement, orders started coming in from day one — followed by some incredibly lovely reviews.

Wild Rose grew from there.

Today, I create hand-lettered pieces for weddings, celebrations, gifts and all sorts of special occasions. From place names and menus to table plans, envelopes and completely bespoke commissions, every piece is written individually by hand.

I love that no two pieces are ever completely identical. Those tiny differences are part of what makes something handwritten feel so personal.

And I still find it slightly amazing that people pay me to do something I enjoy this much.
